So its come down to the end of the semester for this little project to wrap up. and with all my delays in taking pictures of the lip balms and posting them in the shop, what saved the day was my girls taking the lip balms to school and selling them there. they were able to sell just about half at their school, over the past 3 weeks they sold 40 lip balms to their friends and teachers, the other half thankfully sold well on line. Although after some research, I have some better ideas about a more eye catching display for photographs, like using the ingredients that are highlighted in the lip balms in the pictures, I just have to find lavender and bake some cookies and what not. I also need to look at sets and offer them at a discounted rate to get rid of inventory. A lot of other sellers were doing gift sets for hen party gifts or thank you for bridesmaids. It would be logical to have the more yummy ones in a gift set and the fruit ones together, and possibly the organic odd balls in a gift set. Plus designing the packaging they would all go in would be fun.
Having the lip balms done also kind of saved me this thanksgiving break when I totally spaced a white elephant gift exchange, I was doing with my family, thanks to a giant box of sightly less than 1,000 fortune cookies that tasted like dirt, lip balms and some laundry samples from work, we made a good showing no one moaned about being "stuck with them."
